Reelio Privacy Policy

Reelio ("the app") turns your fishing catches into collectible cards. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising or tracking.

What we collect

• Account information — your email address (or the identity provided by Sign in with Apple) and an optional display name, used to create and secure your account.
• Catch photos — the photos you choose to identify. They are stored privately in your account and are visible only to you.
• Catch location — the location you attach to a catch (precise location, when you grant permission), used to tag your catches, power your catch map, and improve species identification. You can catch without location.
• Purchase status — whether your account has an active Reelio Pro subscription. Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
• User ID — an internal account identifier that links the data above to your account.

We do not collect contacts, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or analytics profiles, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

AI photo analysis

To name your fish, Reelio sends the catch photo you submit for identification — and the catch location shown with it — to Claude, an AI service operated by Anthropic. The photo is stored first in your private account on Supabase, then read by Claude. Photos are used solely to identify the species and build your card; they are not used to train AI models and are not shared for advertising.

We ask before the first photo leaves your device, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in Profile → AI photo analysis. Identification is how a catch becomes a card, so while the permission is off you cannot add new catches; your existing cards, photos, Catchdex and map are unaffected and remain fully usable.

Service providers

We use a small number of processors to run Reelio, each receiving only what their function requires: Supabase (database, authentication, and private photo storage), Anthropic (AI species identification), RevenueCat (subscription status management), and Apple (payments and Sign in with Apple).

Retention & deletion

Your catches, cards, and photos are kept until you delete them or your account. Deleting a catch removes its photo from storage. Profile → Delete account permanently erases your account, catches, cards, photos, and progress from our systems.

Your choices

• Turn AI photo analysis off entirely in Profile → AI photo analysis; no photo or location leaves your device while it is off.
• Choose which photos you submit for identification — a photo is only analysed when you submit it.
• Deny location permission, or remove the location from any catch.
• Delete individual catches, or your entire account, in the app.
• Contact us to access or correct your information.

Children

Reelio is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we materially change this policy we will update this page and note it in the app before the change takes effect.
